Alco Videos - right here!

AUSTRALIA

Ride a 48 class DL531 down under! Here is a great short video showing you what it is like to be driver of an Alco. Listen to the engine growl as you start up and accelerate down the track. Thanks much to Steve Jeffs who had the talent to control an Alco and shoot footage all at the same time!

Windsor and Hantsport --On 29 December 2001, after a light snow fall, the Windsor and Hantsport Railway sent three of their ex-CP RS-23s to Windsor Junction NS to pick up a 3600 ton train of 1500 foot long continuous welded rail. The three locomotives put on a great display, including black exhaust and plenty of sound, as they crossed Beaverbank Road and began the climb to Mount Uniacke at a maximum speed of 15 mph. From Mount Uniacke the speed limit increases to 25 and 30 mph and the grade descends to Windsor NS on the tidal part of the River Avon (which feeds into the Bay of Fundy). As it passed through Ellershouse the train was rocking and swaying and the rails were knocking together.

MX636 roars thru Leptokarya - Gerasimos made the A-508 and A-469 [coming soon] videos while on a signal pole, in small stations the railway staff may still allow one to do that! You can notice the oscillation of the pole in the picture, each time he moved, physics laws were applied!
