TED HEDRICK'S Day of railfanning at Rochelle, Illinois

Have you ever wondered what it's like to see over 100 trains a day? Well, Ted experienced this during the summer of 2000. He visited the railfan park at Rochelle, Illinois.  This world famous park draws railfans from all over the globe to see the endless stream of trains at the UP/BNSF double track diamonds in this Midwest junction town. But enough of this, onto the photos!

The pavilion itself, complete with a public scanner.

A nice view of C+NW 8670 and a few railfans. This is a good place to find the all too quickly disappearing C+NW colors.

Santa Fe C40-8W 624 with with two more C44-9Ws in BNSF Heritage colors on a westbound intermodal train.

UP 9790 and a SD40-2 in SP colors.

Santa Fe C40-8W roars under the signal tower still in full Warbonnet colors.

This gift shop looks to have just about everything you could need except a full size train!

And your photographer himself, Ted Hedrick.
