Ex-Bay Colony C425 2501, formerly BN and SPS. Seen in Florida by Phil Bartlett

C425 550, ex 2501 in great looking SGLR colors. Lettered as SGLR 550, the C425 started off life as Spokane, Portland & Seattle 320. After the Burlington Northern acquisition of the SP&S, the unit wore BN number 4258. It would serve as Kyle Railway 4258, Arkansas & Missouri 4258, and Massachusetts Central 4258, before being turned over to Shoreline Locomotive, where it became 2556, and then on to SGLR sister road, the Bay Colony Railroad 2501. On Wednesday, September 4, the locomotive was paired with GP10 573 for the northbound freight from Fort Myers to Arcadia, Florida. The freight leaves Ft. Myers, to heads north Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, near 07:00 EDT, and is easily followed by US 41, and side roads. Photo by Kevin Burkholder
