M&E - LTV RS11 fleet
Here are a collection of photos by Jim McLean taken on July 17th as the units move to the Missabe interchange. Jim first took the flat cars M&E; filled up from the shops area down the hill to Hinsdale where DMIR will pick them up. Next he took the 10 RS-11's and after dropping them off he took some photos from 7209 on the bridge back up to the shops area.

And from Gus Holtz - photos taken 13Sept03 in the Milwaukee area

Closeup of 7212 as consist is approaching Burnham Swing Bridge. Train will separate and pick up 24 cars here including flat cars of Auto frames manufactured in Milwaukee by Tower Automotive (formerly A.O. Smith Co.). 2.

Closeup of 7204 as train is about to depart Muskego Yard at 9:00 AM on Sept. 13, 2003. Bridge in background is the new cabled-stayed south span of the 6th street viaduct that crosses the Menomonee River Valley. 3.

At 9:30 AM, eastbound train (going to Bensenville, IL) is rounding curve at Powerton, WI. You are able to observe the 5 Alcos in the company of CP/Soo power. 4.

Closeup of the train at speed, the Alcos are at a point where once the Milwaukee Electric interurban line crossed the Milwaukee Road via an overhead plate girder bridge that has long since been removed. 5.

Train with the Alcos climbing up Lake Hill which is the ruling grade on the ex-Milwaukee Road C & M division double track main line between Milwaukee and Bensenville. The hill crests at Lake, WI about 2 miles east of here. In the background are Interstates-43/94 crossing the line. The Alcos had a notation on the train list indicating that they were "unpowered to conserve fuel". CP units are 8600, 5669 and Soo 4509. The CP train consist after Milwaukee had a total of 67 cars.
