Cuba

From Oscar Jalice: "As from 2002 when the new Ex mexican railroads GE(53001-53018) locomotives were bought by the Cuban railroads the MLWs got a break and are now being use only for long distance passenger trains such as Havana-Guantanamo ,Havana-Santiago, Havana-Sancti Spiritus, Havana-Holguin, Havana-Bayamo/Manzanillo and Havana-Pinar de Rio. The new GEs are in charge of almost all the freight services. In October 2001 a new French train started to run from Havana to Santiago and 2 MLWs were put in charge of the train and both have been really reliable for the service which is usually on time and that is pretty hard for the Cuban railroads (keep trains running on time)"
