Chilean State Railways Shovel Nosed Units

Here is the daily train from Santiago arriving in Puerto Montt at the end of its 22 hour journey. Today the train only goes to Temuco. The route is a rough one with cheap track and slow speed limits. Back in 1994 the sleeping cars were very nice German built ones from the 1920s and '30s much like the US Pullman cars.
