Chicago Madison and Northern

Ex C&NW RSD5 1689 is privately owned by Gary Baldoun. It was leased for a time to the Chicago Madison & Northern in this beautiful paint scheme shown at Monroe; Wisconsin in July 1979. There were 204 RSD5's built between 1953 & 1956. Note the unit has a steam generator in the short hood (shown by the stack) for passenger service.
